81 and 82 is there any difference was created by Buda
I bought a manual for a 81 KZ1000-1100 but i have a 82 KZ1000 is there anything that is different? I think they are mostly the same but i'm not sure.

Tom - Ain't any way to answer. There were surely small differences between the 81 and 82 KZ1000; The engine is essentially the same but there will be small differences in carburetor jetting and stuff like that. If you are looking to rebuild the engine, then you are likely fine. If you are looking at an 82 model that has different equipment than the 81 stuff, then like I said, there will be small differences. I think my bud Kano has a Haynes manual linked off our Vintage Motorcycle Tech forum linked off my website covering your model; you can double check most stuff although the Haynes is written in Brit English and is fairly incomprehensible as a result.

i just got a 81 1000j standard and am starting to poke around at getting er going...i bought the same factory manual and it seems to cover both our bikes..and like george was saying pretty darn similiar.....far as i can tell the book covers changes and differences from the model years and models...peace

The only differences that I can recall at the moment (it's late, so keep that in mind) are that in '82 the clutch release mechanism was greatly simplified and the starter went from 2 to 4 brushes.
