good choice and those big blocks are very tough to get sealed up properly just do a good retorque on that cylinder head every now and then.

I do have a 1200cc with web 0.395 cams and 28 vm carbs. I geuss lobe centers can make a litte difference but mine revs with the special valve springs at least 10.500 rpms (then I shift, I do not wait for the bang).
And I did degree it for torque with intake on 104,5 and exhaust on 106 or 108.

a 1200 with 28 carbs? Most be fat jets. You aren't starving for gas? I thought it was common for 34-36 on a 1200.

ran this 1197 with 28s,ive run several 1170s with 29s without a problem on streetbikes.B)
