KZ750 twin flywheel bolt... was created by MyHobbyKawasaki
Hi,
I recently purchased a 1980 KZ750G twin in a couple of pieces, and I am working on putting it back together...
The problem is that I can't seem to find any place to get the bolt that holds on the flywheel. It is that really goofy left-hand fine-thread metric bolt.:S I tried one of the 10mm kind for the B1-B2, but it is the larger 12mm one that I need. Does anybody know where to get one of these?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

As a last resort, you could try the OEM Kawi part drawings at Babbittsonline.com to get the Kawi part number. There's an off chance it might still be available from kawi if it's used on more than one model.

No, I havn't tried Z1 enterprises yet. Thanks.
FYI, it is part #92001-1012 It seems Kaw isn't making it any more, as every place I have tried say it is discontinued. According to the Kaw parts diagrams, it is the same part as on the '78-'79 KZ750 twin.
Would anybody here have one laying around that you wouldn't mind selling?
Thanks again,
Andrew

Just a thought, but have you tried
www.boltdepot.com
or any specialty fastener companies?

Hi again,
Kawasaki is definitely not making any more of these, as I was just told by my local Kawasaki shop that it has been discontinued.
I am still looking for one, I guess I will have to try some junkyards and watch eBay... Can anybody here confirm these measurements? 12mm X 1.25 pitch X ??mm I might try ordering one from a bolt supply store if I know what I am looking for.
Thanks for all the suggestions and advice,
Andrew

76 LTD, That would be great! Just make sure it is the 12mm one... I don't need another 10mm, I already have one I don't need. Let me know if you find it.
Thanks for the list too, Sandy. I tried BikeBandit, they told me it was unavailable... :S Hmmm

I found it but i think its a 10mm.takes 14mm wrench.i dont have a way to measure it but a 10 mm wrench fits on the shank of the bolt.it came off a 76 so evidently they changed them some time after that probably in 78 thats when Kawasaki seems to have started changing little things on most of the bikes.(sell more parts). Sorry but hey we tried.
