engine died opinions wanted

I had an '84 GPz1100 die after 10 miles of riding, and oil had come out the lower crankcase vent. What are the possibilities of causing this?

I don't think an over filled crankcase caused it since it waited 10 miles before dieing.

Excessive blow-by pushed oil out from a broken ring perhaps?

this sounds weird but smell your oil it sounds to me like you have a load of fuel in your engine,is your motor injected or carbed.

Died as in motor seize? Died as in total loss of power? Died as in turns over and won't fire? Be a little more specific so you can get some sugestions.

This happened 10 yrs ago, so I don't have any other info other than it died and wouldn't start. It was not seized.

thats where i would strt also,the stock fuel injection onthose bikes sucked in my experiance.
