I am confused as to whether or not my application gets the (4) o-rings on the (4) corner cylinder studs at the upper case locations.
Also, I think I figured out why one of the inner head stud nuts are leaking oil. I used the OE large cam chain o-ring under a one piece (wiseco 1168) head gasket. Can't do that can you?
I am resuming this project I started 10 yrs ago. Rebuilt the engine but never fired it up (think I had the cams mixed up).

Your bike does not use those...the 1982 GPz1100 was the last GPz1100 to use those.
The cams (IN and EX) are identical in your bike.

Thats what I was banking on when I put the engine together last.
Now, my problem at hand is a leaking head bolt, not one of the corner ones. I used the large cam chain o-ring under a 1-piece head gasket. Could this cause it to leak oil? Am I supposed to not use the o-ring with a 1-piece?
Thanks,
James

Yeah...you'll need the o-ring, or at least fill the groove with RTV...I think that one of the other members ought to answer this, particularly since you have punched the bike...I know there are issues with switching styles of gaskets after enlarging the bore.

I would like to hear from someone who has leaked oil or had referenced issues when not using the cam chain o-ring seal and a 1-piece head gasket.
I did talk with wiseco yesterday who said the 0-ring should be omitted when using their (1-piece) kit gasket. No mention of filling the groove with si.
Thanks,
James
