You can try putting brake fluid on it overnight. That eats most anything. Mine took about 4 hours of scraping with a blade (cylinder and crankcase)to get clean because the factory glued it with 3-bond which is indestructible to everything.

Use rags to block the crankcase openings so the scrapings can't fall in.

I like to use some dull wood chisels. A little WD40 helps keep the old gasket pieces together somewhat as I work them away from the gasket surface and away the piston/crankcase holes.

PermaTex makes/made a spray gasket remover. It works very well. Sort of looks like paint stripper working in that it bubbles. With two or three applications the gaskets lift off. It also removes the clear coating on engine side covers and probably would ruin any paint it contacts. Be careful! I've bought the stuff at Auto Zone, but if they still make it, it should be everywhere. Good luck and ride safe, Steve (probably should have 12 or more beverage units available for those unforeseen problems)

A guy on another board I hang out on swears by stuff used to remove bathtub silicon seal. It's a spray and he just sprays some on, leaves it for about 10 minutes and then says the gasket just lifts off. I have NOT tried this (yet) myself but the cost for a trail run would be minimal, I'm sure.
I will be giving it a try the next chance I have.
I have/have used the Permatex gasket remover and it works as posted but it's pricey and you DO have to be careful with it. Do NOT use it in confined spaces because it's got some wild chemicals in it......and you don't want any future offspring with 12 fingers or anything like that....right??;)

loctite gasket remover is what i use spray it on let it set for 5 min. come back scrap with razer blade spray again work on next layer repeat until gone don't get aggressive with the razor blade try not to gouge or nick the gasket surface if you try any mechanical methods you can remove aluminium as well as the gasket and cause your self problems with sealing when you put it back together. just take your time.it will come off, don't try rushing it.

OK....here's the stuff I found at the Home Despots yesterday. I usually use an old piece of plexiglass from a broken windshield as a scraper but this scraper has a very
straight edge and it's quite sharp so should work a lot better....and be safer on metal surfaces. Total cost including the scraper is C$6.78 plus tax. We'll see how the Silicon-Be-Gone works on old gaskets and report the results by the end of the week.
