bottom line is cast is more brittle than forged...
cast is cheaper to manufacture....so cast is oem....
forged be the way to go if you have a choice....

My dad put Nitrous on his Alfa Coupe back in the 80's. That motor lasted about 2 seconds on the gas with cast pistons.

it depends on who made the cast pistons just like anything else.i bought a 415 smallblock chevy kit years ago from HYE TECH PERFORMANCE in california(thats where the HYE TECH UTILITIES spelling came from)anyway that motor had keith black silvo-lite(spell check)pistons in it which are cast.between 10.5-11:1 with the heads i was running, .510 lift cam biggest quadrajet i could lay my hands on at the time and an eldebrock dual plane and a set of short headers in a get this    1961 chevy 1 ton 4x4 dually dumptruck with 4.56s and a locker in rear with a truck 4 speed, that freaking thing was fast! anyway i beat the hell out of that motor for a few years in that 7,000 lb truck then a friend stuck that same untouched motor in a 64 chevy station wagon hes been beating in the 1/8 mile for 2-3 seasons !cast pistons can take alot of abuse if they are put in a motorthats put together right. My dad put Nitrous on his Alfa Coupe back in the 80's. To answer the original question, I'd rate MTC over Wiseco. MTC is higher quality, IMO. Plus they will custom make anything you want.
