Splitting Cases:How to was created by GregZ
Can someone tell how to split cases. I have old 73 900 motor thinking (Fleabay)someone might need early 3 digit cases.The only thing there is the cases with crank and trans. Think I have all bolts out. what next??

where are you located?if youre close to nebraska imight be able to save you some work,serial nunber off cases?

eek,easy with that hammer!:laugh:i hate explaining how to split things apart incase something breaks,mystery bolts ats are a bitch!:laugh:

STOP Emmidiately.... Seriously!

There are four bolts that are off the main crank cap that are somewhat deceiving these also must come off... If you don't you'll end up like I did, broken case!!!!

The one manual I had didn't truly mention these (bolt counts) and I screwed up royal, blew a hole through the case....

Take your time, loosen these 4 bolts and then in using the 8mm case splitting bolts (attached) in the manuals you'll find the cases split rather easily.
