name this part please was created by torkisgood
got the 82 750 running today after replacing pick up coil and igniter. would not idle so im gonna get to cleaning the carbs tomorrow but i did listen to the sweet sound of the inline 4 for about ten minutes. noticed a fairly large oil spot after running. took off the clutch cover and found the prob. there is a cover behind the countershaft sprocket that looks like it took some damage from a chain explosion J-B weld and RTV all over it not to mention some bent mounting bolts. what is that cover called and how much should I expect to pay. There is a nearby junkyard that has 1 82 750 and 3-4 twin 750s and about 6 550s What might interchange?

It´s called the transmission cover (or sometimes just mission cover) - can't help you with price as I'm in Europe but 650/750 four covers should interchange, 750 Twin won't.

I've researched this one in the past, so I just happen to know that 750 twin will interchange with the 750H, but not the ZX750A GPz750.
Will fit list from Kawasaki.com:
KZ550-A1 (1980)
KZ550-A2 (1981)
KZ550-C1 (LTD) (1980)
KZ550-C2 (LTD) (1981)
KZ550-D1 (GPz) (1981)
KZ650-B1 (1977)
KZ650-B2 (1978)
KZ650-B2A (1978)
KZ650-B3 (1979)
KZ650-C1 (Custom) (1977)
KZ650-C2 (Custom) (1978)
KZ650-C3 (Custom) (1979)
KZ650-D1 (SR) (1978)
KZ650-D1A (SR) (1978)
KZ650-D2 (SR) (1979)
KZ650-E1 (LTD) (1980)
KZ650-F1 (1980)
KZ650-H1 (CSR) (1981)
KZ650-H2 (CSR) (1982)
KZ750-B1 (1976)
KZ750-B2 (1977)
KZ750-B3 (1978)
KZ750-B4 (1979)
KZ750-E1 (1980)
KZ750-E2 (1981)
KZ750-E3 (1982)
KZ750-G1 (LTD II) (1980)
KZ750-H1 (LTD) (1980)
KZ750-H2 (LTD) (1981)
KZ750-H3 (LTD) (1982)
KZ750-M1 (CSR Twin) (1982)
KZ750B, G,and M, are 750 twins.
It will bolt on the ZX750A/GPz750's, but the neutral light switch is in the wrong place for the stock GPz750 transmission.
But it's in the right place for a 550 six speed conversion using a 550A, C, or D, transmission.
