Can any KZ1000 owners with a late model Kerker 4 into 1 (model KE2156) measure from the bottom frame tube how far down the Kerker hangs down? I have a V&H and it did hang 4" below the frame tube, it is now 3-7/8", from shedding sparks!

Keith you have the same pipe I do. I am trying to find out if the Kerker fits tighter under the bike? I need some measurements please guys. In God we trust, all others bring data. Nice looking bike BTW.

Timebomb, My bike is lowered exactly 1". Forks slid up in trees 1" and rear shocks 12". Progressive springs in front and rear. The pipe drags when the suspension is loaded in a right hand turn. Going hard into a downhill righthander and hit a bump and YIKES not a good time to drag. I had an old pipe from the around 1980 I think was a Kerker? that had a big S turn under the bike and it dragged the same as the V&H. I was eyeing the new Kerker shaped like the V&H and hoped someone could put the tape on it. I am not forking out nearly $500 for no clearance gain. BTW I have lifted weights for 30 years so I am up to 185 lbs(I'm 5'-7" hence the need to lower it).

your lowered an inch in the front and an 1 1/2" in the back i have an old yosh pipe on mine and i never have a problem mine is lowered about the same i weigh about 210 and when i go for a trip i probably have about 50-60lbs of gear with me. i've never had a problem with clearance so that pipe must be a little more tucked out of the way.my bike is about a thousand miles away but i can check on it at christmas if you would like. i also have another bike with a kerker and i can check it against it as well. in the mean time you might want to add a bunch more preload on those back springs. it could be just a bit to soft for your weight and compressing just enough to cause you problems.

Exit, Not sure my P/N, But, purchaced my kerker 4/1 last summer new from Parts Unlimited, it's new enough to have the aluminum baffle endcup if that helps, clearance from bottom of trans pan to lowest portion of collecter is uniform 3.5 inches, and same from lower frame rail just before rear upward bend. If I recall correctly Kerker & V/H are dramaticly different in both collector and muffler config's with Kerker sweeping away from oil filter cover and muffler sweeping up and in just after brake pedal. I've yet to touch exhaust tho 'tis inevitable, I hope its just a case of speed bump when I do, Hope this helps.G
