oring and base gasket question

No problem as long as they don't leak or fail. Now picture how much work you have to do over if they do leak and that's why the factory seals them with RTV.

BTW: the base gasket in my kit failed rapidly after my rebuild (it was an Athena set). I got to do the whole job over.
