650 to 750

I got a 76 kx650 that i want to make fast and I saw an opportunity to get a 80 kz750 engine how much of it can i use to convert the 650 to an 810? are the cams better what about the transmission?

swap engines it should bolt right in.

unless you are absolutely set on keeping the kickstarter, i would just swap motors. They will bolt up the same, and everything else should work. I think you will have to get a 530 front sprocket because i know my 82 750 had a 630 sprocket but maybe the earlier 750's are different. If you want to keep the kickstarter it isnt a whole lot more work since you will have to take the top end off anyways to do the 810 kit. You will be able to have the 750 cylinders bored over and put ontop of your 650 cases. Also, the 750 head/cam combo will fit right up too. oh, and yes the 750 cams are better than the 650's. You will also have to put the 650 cam sprockets onto the 750 cams if you choose to run your 650 bottom end

thanks timebomb, I only know this stuff because i once was in this same position with many questions. I was helped greatly by everyone on the site with my project and it is only my duty to share with others who now need help.

To use the 750 jugs on the 650 bottom, you will also have to clearance the 650 cases to accept the liners.
