I removed the oilpan on Tim's 1980 KZ750-four and found a broken part lying in the bottom of the oilpan. It appears to be made of hard plastic molded around a metal piece and is apparently a piece broken off of a larger part. Can anyone tell me what it is and where to access where it belongs, to replace it? I will try to post a picture or two. This bike is sort of a basket-case we are trying to resurrect; however I have started the engine with this part presumably already broken off from wherever it belongs. Thanks.

It is probably number 14 or 15...see

And to replace it, you'll have to pull the head and jugs:(

Thanks Mcdroid, It matches up with the bottom inch or so of part #14, the front cam chain guide. Since the surface facing the camchain has very little if any wear on it I speculate that this happened a long time ago, perhaps even at the factory. Maybe it's been bouncing around in the oilpan for most of this engines 17K miles. Thanks again.
