Will a 1983 gpz1100 engine fit into a 1979 kz1000ltd frame?
What mods need to be done?

1979 KZ1000 drag/street fighter
1015cc stock internals for now, 39 flattys, GSXR frontend, ZX9 rear wheel with 6 over chromoly arm, just a budget beater!

motor mounts and some wiring,i believe mr magoo did that swap in a z1r somewhere thats posted;)

yes they use different motor mounts so you will have to make them up. i have never done it but it does not look that tough i think the chain will even line up after your done when you are doing something like that it easier to use a set of emptiy cases just because they are easier to move around in the frame.a really good friend used to do them once in a while but i can't ask him because he is no longer with us. he always used empty cases for that kind of thing. i know because i was the one who always supplied them.

As i recall the rear mounts line up and u just have to mod the front 1's.
76 KZ, frame gusset work,1200CC.Ported by Larry Cavanaugh, 1.5mm.over intakes, Carron Pipe, ZRX12 rear end, and seat,96zx9 front end.
