Z1A - Z1000 cylinders- Wiseco 1075 Kit was created by stever
As the title says I have a Z1A which runs a z1000 barrells and cylinder head. I am putting a 1075 wiseco kit on it with the fibre wiseco head and base gaskets. Do I need the O rings that fit round the base of the cylinders or not. Cos when I took it apart there werent any?
Are there any other o rings that fit round the studs at all?

When you took off the cylinder base gasket, is it a 1 piece gasket?
This was just discussed in a posting where I asked in regards to the two different gaskets I received. One being a 1 piece and the other (OEM) was a two piece gasket...

Hope this helps...

Hi old man, I had read that thread and found it usefull. However I am talking about the gasket between the cylinders and the crank case, not the head gasket.
There are 4 o rings round the base of the cylinder liners and its those that I want to know about.
For the head gasket I am going to use the 1 piece fibre gasket that wiseco provided and fill the cam chain tunnel o ring groove with silicone.

Whenever we put larger sleeves in the KZ blocks, there is no room for those o'rings, so we just leave them out. Never been an issue.

Hi Jay,
Its a standard z1000 block and sleeves on a Z1A 900 crankcase.
I will use the Wiseco gasket and I am using your studs and bolts to hold it all together.
Would you not bother with the O rings with this set up then?
Steve

i've built lots of stock block motors some i put them in some i've left out never seemed to make any differance one way or the other,if you get them in a gasket kit it can't hurt to put them in.
