said it came off an 80...i was toying with the idea of using this to freshen up my 78 1000 ltd...
any thoughts? i found a pretty good deal on headwork ( i think)....if this set up is a good deal , i could do the mid and top of motor for less than 500......

THE 1045 KIT IS USED YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT OVER ALL CONDITION IT'S IN, I THINK I WOULD LOOK AT THE 1075 KIT THAT HE ALSO HAS ADVERTIZED IN HIS OTHER SELLERS ITEMS HE CALLS IT A DRAG MOTOR KIT BUT IT'S ACTALLY ONLY A 10.25-1 KIT. THE REASON I WOULD GO FOR THE 1075 IS A FRESH BORE JOB. IT HAS A COUPLE OF BROKEN FINS BUT THAT WON'T HAVE ANY EFFECT ON HOW IT WORKS.YOU WILL NEEDED BIG BORE HEAD GASKETS BUT HE PROBABLY HAS THEM WITH THE KIT. I'VE USED ONE OF THOSE KIT'S IN MY 74 STREET BIKE FOR ABOUT 30,000 MILES I'VE NEVER HAD IT APART I USE .395 LIFT WEB CAMS, 29MM SMOOTHBORES, 1MM OVERSIZE VALVES, DYNA S IGNITION, AND AN OLD YOSH PIPE BECAUSE IT'S QUIETER THAN MY KERKER OR MY VANCE+HINES. LAST TIME I DYNOED IT MADE 114 HP 79 FT/LBS OF TOURQUE. IT HAS BEEN A FUN BIKE EVER SINCE I BUILT IT 10 YEARS AGO. IVE GONE 10.70'S AT THE DRAG STRIP WITH IT RIDDEN TO STURGIS SOUTH DAKOTA 3YEARS IN A ROW BEST BIKE IVE EVER BUILT FOR MYSELF.

my first inclination is to go with a fresh 1075 kit but i saw this and it didnt look too bad...
i found a place in florida that will do the jug work and supply 1075 kit,etch the pistons with their motor position, end gap rings...all i have to do is wrestle it together, but were talking like 600.
i m just trying to save some money, but i think in the long run if i m going to rip it apart, i should go with new stuff and only have to do it once.....i want to do a 1075, get head redone, and throw in 410 cams...should be a strong runner...i guess i have all winter to cough up cash...keith

KIETH CHECK-OUT THAT E-BAY SITE AGAIN .HE ALSO HAS A 1075 PISTON KIT WITH A FRESHLY BORED BLOCK HE ONLY WANTS 375.00 BUY IT NOW PRICE THAT IS AN AWESOME PRICE I'D SCOOP IT UP MY SELF IF I DID NOT HAVE 2 NEW KITS MYSELF READY TO GO AT HOME.

what are my options as far as stripping black off the cases? sandblast?.....i m going to keep an eye on it....i think it can be had for a tad less than the buyitnow......

Sandblasting will work well if your are going to repaint.But it would be too course for a natural finnish. For that you would use glass bead .

76 KZ, frame gusset work,1200CC.Ported by Larry Cavanaugh, 1.5mm.over intakes, Carron Pipe, ZRX12 rear end, and seat,96zx9 front end.
