COMPRESSION TEST was created by drotti2004
I bought a compression tester and tested just 2 cylinders with the bike running for about a minute or 2 and did not know you do it with the engine off, everything still ran good but was wondering if I could of damaged anything.

so you ran the engine with the compression tester on? I've never seen any setup that works like that, but I don't know everything. The way I always test compression is to get the motor hot, then pull all of your spark plugs and open the throttle all the way. then put the tester on one cylinder and use the starter motor to turn the engine over, when the tester doesn't go any higher, stop. repeat for each cylinder.
I hope this helped.

I did that on a race car motor just for grins,, damn was I surprised how low the compression was running, this was done at idle, also killed the gauge, I took the schrader valve out when I did it,,

The way zeiss150 described is the correct way.
But just curious, what kind of numbers did you see?
