top end rattle

Hey I have a 77 KZ 100LTD, I just got back from a 10 day east coast tour. On the last day of my ride I could only kick start my bike. when I got home I cleaned my conections and tryed to jump start it with a booster pack and got nowhere. I pulled the starter out cleaned it and put it back in. I kick started the bike. It started and seems to run okay. Other then a pretty nasty rattle in the top end. I am thinking it sounds like it is coming from the top front. Any thoughts on what I should be checking for would be great.

Cam chain too loose? Valves adjusted properly? exhaust clamps tight?

set your cam chain tension. I can almost guarantee that the front chain guide is broken. They are just a flimsy peice of metal. You will find it in the pan.
