how many quarts and what weight,for a 1978 kz650.

i run 20w50 in mine for warmer weather here in the northeast...10-30 or 10-40 is fine too depending on where you live. drain and watch the sight glass when you refill, run it for a few minutes, let it drain back down and fill it to the top on the sight glass. i think they hold about 3.5 us quarts or 3.2 litres when full...steve

You should try to get yourself a manual at some point to help with your periodic maintenance. Check under the seat for the owners manual in a plastic pocket/flap attached to the bottom of the seat.

As well, search through the Archive section as there has been lots of post on all types of maintenace.
