Pulling the valve cover - need help!!! was created by KOOL RYDER
So I am going to pull the valve cover to inspect the camchain guide.....
Other than unbolting the valve cover, what else can I expect to have to do when opening up the top of the engine?
I think that I may have messed up the guide.
Are these cheap to buy and replace.
Other than a ratchet, what kind of tools am I going to require?
A flathead screwdriver to pry the cover off?
What sould I look for when I open her up?

take out the bolts and it is going to take some wiggle work to get it out, ,,,,, hold your left ear with your right hand and stand on one foot, it works every time

A 10mm socket is all that's needed. Of course first you need to remove the tank and ignition coils. Be careful lifting the cover to keep all the gasket stuck to the engine if hopefully no gasket sealer has been used, then no need to even change the gasket on reassembly. It's a tight fit pulling the cover up over the top idler sprocket, but it does come off.

Mark your wires and hoses as to where they go so re-assembly leaves no mysteries.
