ok so i split the case on my spare engine and the 550 trans will drop right in but the sprocket is held on by a snap ring. i disassembled the shafts and they are different diameters so you have to use the 550 shaft. the other problem is the gears are about 25 to 30% narrower. so my questions are
1. will the snap ring be ok if the sprockets are lined up.
2.will the narrower gears hold up. did kawasaki go over kill on the trans
the new engine is an 810 with a ported 750 head and a set of megacycle 428 lift cams pods and a 4to1

I've only read of one such build using a 83 (810) Gpz motor and Gpz 550 transmission. No idea how long it would last. Never heard of a long term report with this setup.

Let us know who it goes.

KZ750R1 + 1991 ZR750 = KZR750R1
