Oil Cooler, Will it Work? was created by 80KAW650
Well I've finally got my bike running half way decent. It still has it's issues but she's scooting me down the road. I have become concerned however on how hot it gets when occasionally stuck in city traffic and or multiple stop lights: oh how I wish we had turn abouts like Europe. So I'd like to add an oil cooler but I don't have $200-$300 to do it with. I have however come across an oil cooler for an 83 kz550 relatively cheap. Will it fit my 80 kz650 or could it be adapted?

Pretty sure you could adapt it.
You'll have to figure out some fittings though, unless your bike has fittings that will be compatible with the oil-cooler lines.
On the liter-bikes,the factory oil pressure switch(1 piece) has to be replaced with 2 fittings, and they're not all that easy to find.B)

I have 1 from a GPZ750 and it is a direct bolt on, I don't think it will be the same for the 550.
