if you are running lean,( i was running 136 mains-they were running a tad rich- but I thought they said 130, i went down to 125's and they ran lean)
they were on a kz1000- i ran it for around 80 miles this way
also where is damage most likely to occur

Doubting any damage was done, because main jets don't do much below wide open throttle. And no mention of the bike having been "pinging" or over-heating for the 80 miles.
went down to 125's and they ran lean - was this evidenced by plug reading after high speed throttle chop with simultaneous killed ignition?
Imo, the best evidence of correctly sized main jet is a nice clean tan plug reading after the mentioned high speed throttle chop. As this truly shows what's going on inside the combustion chamber at wot where the main jet size is governing the mixture.
Good Luck!

ok guys the 80 miles lean did nothing bad to it !!!!! yeah!
but i found out if you drop a bolt down the intake it does not do good things to your valve train or the top of your piston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
