81 B1 Exhaust

The exhaust is shot on my 1981 kz 1100 b1 gpz. My question is will an exhaust made for an 83 of same size & model fit this bike? What are my options? Could they fit with some mods? Thanks in advance

Good question that has not been answered on this forum. I'd like to return to stock also on mine but exhaust systems for the B1 and B2 are made of Unobtanium and rarely appear on eBay (and if they do the bidding gets crazy)...but I digress...The header pipes should fit just fine (in theory) but mounting the mufflers will be different. You might have to creatively design new mount hardware.

I do want to keep her as original as possible. I see what I can do and keep everyone updated.

I have a 81 gpz 1100 exhaust, that's been in the attic of my garage for about 10 years. From what I remember, it had a few small dings in the mufflers, and was missing one head pipe. If your interested I can get it down and take some pictures.
