KZ650 Supertrapp Exhaust pics needed... was created by theS10kid
I have a request that I could really use some help with. I have a 78 KZ650 with a chrome Supertrapp 4-1. Located rearward of the passenger peg is a bracket with one bolt hole in it on the exhaust can. Does anybody have a picture of where this goes to on the bike? Is there a bracket I am missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Kerker on my 650 but you'll get the idea. If the tab with the hole in it is in the bottom it will be like mine. Basically all you need is a 1/8" metal strap to go from the passenger footpeg bolt to your tab on the pipe. Use rubber washers on the pipe tab like in the photo below. (click to enlarge)

Very interesting pic, Bluemeanie! Last winter I got lucky and got a Kerker Meg from US ebay and I wondered about the bracket facing down. I thought that it used to be 4-2 left side muffler but it´s original according to you pic. Am I right?

You are right. That is original mounting tab. I guess if they put it on top the metal strap would only be about 1/2 in long. Plus this cleans up the meg lines by hiding the tab behind and below. They might have different mounting locations for different bikes but that's how they did it for my 650.

My Kerker's bracket goes down as well, and has Kerker stamped in it.

Well thank you guys for taking time for some photos. My bike has a tab that is mounted to the top of the pipe, but using your pics I am just going to make up a tab that attaches to the rear footpeg. Thanks for all the help guys!
