Gpz peak at what rpm? was created by jordan
Now that my 810/gpz top end project is done and has a few miles on it, it is time to hit the track. I do not have a tach, but i do have a dyna ignition with an adjustable rev limiter. I was wondering if anyone knew, or had a power curve chart to help me determine what rpm would be best to shift at. I know the gpz cams put the power much higher into the rpm range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

83-85 GPz750, peak hp, 85 @ 9,500 rpm.
I think 10,500 rpm is a safe point at which to set your rev limiter.

You should find a dyno in your area and get it checked out. It's the only way to know for sure where you power starts to drop off. Also you need a shift light to know when to shift. Waiting until you hit the rev limiter will cost you time.
