Troubleshooting - firing issues was created by BeeSting
Alright, here's whats going on.

I still have alot of fuel ending up in the airbox. The bike is bogging alot, and at all speeds now.

All the pipes get hot enough to immediately vaporize water, but the #3 pipe doesn't vaporize it (immediately) right at the first bend (coming from the cylinder). lower down the pipe is does. This boggles me...

I'm probably going to get a cylinder pressure checker again. What should my procedure be and what should I look for?

I'd like to get some more road time before the season is over. Thus far I've been proud to ride my old Kaw and proud to put down a couple new Harleys in the process.

What do the plugs look like?

Sorry can you link me to the thread in which you discussed your previous history?

I'll need to look at them again. I know that #3 looks lean/overheated.

Checked the plugs again. #1 is fouled (sooty), #2,#3, and #4 are dry-lean.

More than likely there are at least a couple of separate problems.

#1 probably has a leaking float needle valve, and the other three probably have vacuum leaks.

#1 could have a vacuum leak also, with the leaking float valve covering up the symptoms.

There is dark colored dirt on the engine side of the rubber flanges that mount the carbs to the engine/head. Is this normal or a sign of some sort of leak?
