APE bearing for KZP? was created by LeeLewis7
Can someone confirm if transmission bearing HDB113305 found on the APE site here
kzzone.com/trans.html
is the 63/28NC3 bearing found behing the front sprocket on the output shaft of a 1984 KZ1000P3 (J motor)? I've been having trouble finding a 63/28 bearing with snap rings. Both Babbetts and Bike Bandit are OOS with no idead when any will be available. This is the last bearing needed to begin my engine rebuild.
Any guidance is appreciated.

I misread your post, I thought you were saying APE was out of stock also
Google search for that number only turns up APE and Schnitz, so it's probably safe to assume that Schnitz is selling the APE bearing, and it's an APE number.
The safest thing to do is call APE and ask.
Crap, quoted and replied to my own post!! Maybe I should go back to bed and start over

I've PM'ed APE Jay and sent APE customer service an email. Hopefully I'll hear soon that this bearing is the one I need.
Does anyone have an alternate source for this discontinued bearing?

Not yet, and anything you can do is greatly appreciated. If this is the bearing I think it is, then APE has the market cornered. Kudos for offering it at a great price, too.
Thanks,
Lee

Applied Industrial Technologies here in Chattanooga had the bearing when no one else did, and at a better price! They have dealers spread all over the US. Highly recommended.
Happy ending...

The internet has really made information transfer that happens almost instanly something we take for granted.
I go to several Kawasaki forums and help with the information I've gathered over the years and I still find something new every day!
The tip about the cam plugs I remembered and how to mount them on the inside on the older KZ's and the new one I read about concerning using the riding lawn mover starter solenoids instead of buying a $$$$ spend under $20.
Yes it's not a bolt on but it still does the same thing with a little creative wiring you're back on the road.
If you have a good tip pass it on to others as you may need their help someday too.
