I want to change my muffler to something has a better sound and performance. But i'm so unsure of what to use, and worried about the bike running to lean. Any suggestions?

Any time a change is made to either the intake system or exhaust jetting adjustments are almost expected.
The best indication to see how the engine is doing is to "read" the center electrode of the sparkplug(s) and see what color they are.
White is too lean, Black is too rich(oil fouling is another problem), and light tan is just about right.
A tip about sparkplugs is to buy some silver anti-seize at the auto parts store and put a small ammount on the threads. This will prevent the dreaded stuck sparkplug problem
