KZ440 igniter, pickup, and timing advancer, or the same parts off a 82-83 750 twin, is what you need to convert to electronic ignition, and a square 4 pin plug from the wiring harness off one of the above bikes.

I think I might have all the above laying around here somewhere.

I've converted three so far.

I'll look and see if I can find a pic of my 750 twin, the frame and wiring harness is 79, the rest is a mixture :)

Just can't get any pics to show up right now, never had a problem before.

Here's a LINK to my Google photo album, the one I'm riding right now is the 79 with all the mods listed.

Two of those bikes are not mine, one is Paul Smith's and I can't remember who the 77 belongs to.

Here is a pic of my garage/shop with three of the bikes we have here, there are three or four more not pictured.

Nice! Ah where can I find saddlebags like those? They just sling over the seat?

well, maybe this is more the question I had. What tool do you use to hold the flywheel so you can get the bolt off. Also is it a left hand bolt or right hand?
Thanks
Sam

Personally, after the first time using the rear axle as a puller, I thought it was worth the $9 for a puller tool. It make the whole job just that much easier having to not fiddle with the back wheel...

Here's what I did, this is in the tightening position... flip it for loosening position (yes, left-hand threads):

I have a tendency to forget that not everyone has a spare axle

The saddlebags hang over the seat and fasten with straps front and rear on the bottom to keep them from moving, and have stiffeners inside to keep their shape when empty. Less than five minutes to install/remove them, and you need to remove them to carry a passenger. They are Nelson Rigg and a discontinued model, just have to find the matching RTB500/CL800 top bag that clips onto the saddlebags so I can do my grocery shopping/ take my laundry to the laundromat/ etc. That will eliminate the need to drive my truck till winter :)
