If nothing else,slacken off the adjustment behind the small cover,on the clutch cover itself.
Gives you a reason to check the adjustment anyway.

If your cable has the adjustment in the middle of the cable down by the exhaust pipe, you can loosen it there and at the lever to give you enough slack to remove the cable from the lever. What Sandy says is good advice too..........chris3
