It still has the same design as the GPZ heads...
I bought this head a while ago, and I'm planning on doing some mild porting and skimming, and putting it on my KZ700.

You don't need to do anything to a KZ650 to get 100rwhp, because Kawasaki did it all for you.

Yes you do, you have to locate then buy the GPz750 Turbo
Or let your Nephew buy one and park it in your garage (worked for me)

It goes OK apart from worn bores/rings burning too much oil due to high mileage.
Rather than go for one size over re-bore, I like the idea of freshening it up with Z750 barrels bored to take a Wiseco 810 kit.
I'm not after top end power, but mainly want more mid-range torque.
From this thread it looks like I'll have to open up the crank case openings to slide the bigger z750 liners in.
How much work is involved in this? Machine shop or DIY dremmel job?
Also, can I just bolt my 650 head back on to the z750 810 block with the Wiseco pistons? Any issues with piston/valve/head clearance?
Final question, will the standard carbs be big enough or will they restrict the max torque?
Any answers gratefully received

If I have the time I'll measure the cc of the combustion chamber.
Not all that impressed with the midrange on my current setup. Turns out the Zypher went with a mild state of tune and it requires some tweaks to get it up to my expectations.
Compression is 9.5.1? Have to go look at the book again for a spec.
KZ750R1 + 1991 ZR750 = KZR750R1
