So when I'm getting down on it, taking off kinda hard, sometimes when I shift quick into 3rd or 4th (from a high RPM) the trans doesn't seem to engage immediately. It kinda sounds like it's slowly engaging quite a while after I shift.

Any ideas? Am I wearing out my clutch?

If not already done, this condition may often be corrected by performing routine clutch pushrod adjustment (not talking cable slack here ;) ).

Good Luck! :)

Either that or your clutch is worn out.

If adjusting it don't work, take a look at the clutch plates.

Sounds like clutch plate replacement to me. However, the pressure plate springs may just be weak. I had a set of weak springs in my number 2 bike that replacing them fixed the problem. Z1 had springs. Your clutch cable may be breaking inside the housing causing enough restriction making the clutch release slowly. chris3
