I'm getting ready to put my 530 chain on but I think I have geared it too low, It will have 15f and 41r sprockets, which comes out to a 2.733 ratio, is this too low for a kz1000? I also have a 180/55/17 rear tire.

1015cc stock internals for now, 39 flattys, GSXR frontend, ZX9 rear wheel with 6 over chromoly arm, just a budget beater!

It would be too low for my tastes. I changed the gearing on my KZ750 to a leisurely 2:1 (16/32), so I think yours is going to be a little bit low.

According to JT sprockets, the stock ratio of a 77-80 KZ1000A is 2.33:1, so yeah, you are geared a little lower than stock.

Ought to have pretty good acceleration though :)
