Clutch cable question. was created by NickW900LTD
I changed over to superbike bars on both of my 1000's. The LTD has a shorter clutch cable and noticed how much smoother it runs around town. The A2A model is still using the stock clutch cable witch is way longer and notice some clutch chatter at low revs around town, but its fine on the highway. Will a shorter cable take the chatter away or is it common to have a little chatter when riding around town?

I don't like the sound of chatter....

How does the cable feel? Is there still enough play? Dis you test this while moving the bars from end to end? If there is ample play, then other than possible cable binding due to extra length, I think the cable will be fine.

The chatter on the other hand....

The only reason, that I can think of, where a cable would cause the clutch to chatter is if it was binding and not allowing the clutch to fully engage. Did you check the cable to see if it was moving freely when you made the swap?...chris3
