smokin breather, 80 kz750 twin was created by srennoc
Hello again to all my helpful kz alumni. so here it is, i am riding an 80 kz750 twin. My tach cable is busted and has been dripping oil onto the exhaust and causing smoke. so i have just been going through electrical tape while i wait on the good ole USPS to get my new one to me. however, i realized today after a long ride, that was not the only source of smoke for me. it seems that i am getting some from the breather cover. i am not sure if this is new however, because i was used to the oil burning off from the tach cable. but today it seemed worse.
any ideas what might be causing this? too vague a question?
also, i noticed in the manual that there is a breather pipe attached to the breather cover bolt. I do not have this. where does said pipe go from the breather? and... is it harmful or bad that it is missing from my bike?
thanks again!
i think i should probably change my name to mechanically declined.

The hose that connects to the breather connects to the bottom front of the air box.

A little smoke is normal, a lot would indicate bad rings or valve guides.
