Repairing a hole in the exhaust with JB Weld - Any experiences or advice? was created by KOOL RYDER
Hey there gents:
I have a pesky hole on the left side that is starting to get to me. I notice that when I am travelling at 60 MPH my left foot and boot are starting to warm up. Time to fix this hole to get rid of the stink and to improve performance.
Will JB Weld work for this?
I am interested in a quicker fix because this winter I am planning on installing a 4 into 1 or even a new stock systerm.
I like the look of the stock system the best and am not interested in playing with the carbs as they are working pretty well at the moment.
Has anone used JB Weld to patch a hole such as this?
Is it worth it?
Any tips on how to prep the bike?
Do I have to pull the entire exhaust to remove only the left side?
Should I buy new copper ghaskets before I remove the left side?
I have never done this before and Ron tells me that it shouldn't be too much work other than removing the bolts at the engine, under the crossover pipe and the rear mount.
Thanks in advance.
Oh yeah wired george - it is a stock 78 KZ650 B2 with a vacume petcock. Nothing new other than a new K&N air filter.

It may not look pretty but you could also take a soda or beer can and double layer it over the hole and secure with hose clamps.
