Tach Drive - Need Quick Confirmation Please - KZ900 was created by Ilbikes
Guys, I got everything back together but I'm not sure about the tach drive. The original factory shop manual does a goo job showing all of the cam timing and top-end assembly except for one thing - the tach drive bushing/seal. I've installed the seal, the o-ring, but where is the thrust load bushing or wear surface? These are spiral gears, so there is some load transfered in the direction of gear. I don't see anything to take that load. The parts fiche does not show anything that I'm missing, but something doesn't feel right.
Can one of you point me to images or explain what goes in - engine-first, please?
The polished cylinders and head came out sweet. I will tell my secrets when time permits.
Regards, Gordon

As far as I know I never taken out the drive gear. I can't even remember there being a thrust washer.
