Engine Case Split: I Screwed Up Royal... OMR

damn it all to hell!!!!!!!

I'm one so pissed off and the other I'm so friggin stupid.
I followed the Kawasaki Shop Manual to the T and this...

Shop Manual page 45, Bullet 6 "Be careful not to take out the 4 bolts that hold down the crankshaft" should read loosen all but one thread of the bolts...

One side cracked and the other busted a hole through the lower casing!! Basically they have you insert 3 each 8mm screws to pop off the lower case.

And in researching the web, these are matched sets!... Oh great, just friggin great! Babitts, $940 just for the case set...

Hopefully I can get these welded or I'm truly screwed...

ARMY RANGER anger :laugh: been to that point myself a time or 300 over the years!:laugh: id suggest holding on to the old cases they come in handy when you want mock something up without wrestling a whole engine around

It's Sunday morning and I'm over it.... Ok, I'm not truly over but not so friggin pissed I want to go postal...

Mark, thanks for the number but in Googling MRE, all I come up with is Meals Ready to Eat... Dehydrated Army food...
Who are they?

Thoughts on getting it welded? I know, I know, the hole maybe but the crack is on the top lip where the two cases meet and it will most likely leak....

I have already sent them off an e-mail with all the model years and SKU numbers that match 14001-5025... I will follow up first thing in the morning with a call to Jat.

I also found one on E-Bay that I posted a bid on just in case. KAWASAKI KZ1000 CRANKCASE SET ENGINE CASES M CSR LTD P
In researching the OEM part numbers, a match!

NOTE: If anyone in this forum bids on this I will cause you severe harm.... lol!
