well iv got a Z200/Z250 clymer manual for my bike on the pc and just recently picked up my 1980 Z200.

I knew it came without a cam chain tensioner and found one on EBAY US: I couldn't find one in Australia, the clymer manual claims the Z200 had a manual cam chain tensioner but reading the Z200 owners manual from under the seat says otherwise...

now as far as I can tell the Z200 automatic cam chain tensioner should be the same as alot of other models? from photos iv looked at they appear to all be the same: is anyone able to weigh in on this? the 200 is a very hard bike to find parts for but theres alot of 250's around.

I don't know this model, but if you go here
shop.ebay.co.uk/items/__kawasaki-z200_W0...0z200QQ_scZ1QQ_sopZ1

There's a yellow one and a red one for sale.
Also manuals in various formats. Plus some spares.
you could email the sellers of the z200's and ask them.:woohoo:
Sorry I can;t be more help, maybe someone will chime in.
All the Best.

Hi choobs
I went to www.kawasaki.com Owner info, parts diagrams etc and checked 1980, 91, 82, 83 84 and could not find a kz200 or even a 200 four stroke.
When I checked 1979 sure enough there's a kz200 so maybe the year thing is just a matter of which year it was first registered.
Anyway once I get to parts diagrams for the 79 I clicked on cam chain tensioner and this brings up a parts diagram. Select the part # and in the pop up box click on the little yellow question mark. This brings up a listing of all bikes which share that part. There are a few pre 1980 250s which share the same part.
On the other hand I wonder if your 200 is a slimmed down 250 from 80 or post 80. Does the Clymers shed any light on this ? If so then repeat the above and select 250 for engine size and you can see that the 80 and newer 250s share cam chain tensioner with lots of models... but 200 is not listed.
Might help you pin down a part #
Good luck
