Hey all,

As written previously, due to difficulties obtaining a 1/2, 18 tooth, 530 CC sprocket I re-grouped and went with the 630 configuration....

AmericanClassix.com
CC Sprocket:
OS15 - front sprocket 15-630 0.5 offset
Qty: 1 at $84.50

Z1 Enterprises.com (Thanks Jeff!)
Rear Sprocket & CC Washers/Spacers:
630 (JTR501 series) 37T Rear Sprocket
Quantity: 1 Product ID: TU24-9607 Price: $33.26

Front Sprocket Spacer Washer - 1.25mm
Quantity: 3 Product ID: SS-3 Price: $0.75

Here's how I measured, seems to have come out correctly.

KZ900 Stock Rim: 3.5" from center rim to inside sprocket.
ZX6RR Stock Rim: 4.25" from center rim to inside sprocket.

Subtract the differences = .75" = 19.05mm
subtract the offset 13.5mm = 5.55mm
subtract the 3 spacers at 1.25mm each = 1.8mm = .0709" =
< then 1/16"...

In measuring the sprockets to frame and tire I measure 1/2" spacing. I ordered a chain from Jeff at Z1 but won;t be here till next week. a 630 Chain - RK 102 link XW-ring

This will be the true and final confirmation to frame and tire and I'll post the results later.

Thanks Steell for turning me onto JT Sprockets... Mix and match the templates of different years, all is good! B)

Hope this may help others,

if this works I'm on board but was curious about the front sprocket issue I heard that shnitz raceing might carry a 530 front sprocket for the kz's if so could you do a little grinding (milling) on the back side to get the 1/2" off set we need as far as the rear we could buy a stock sprocket.just wondering by the way your bike is hot, when done we need to hook up an get some pics together.

Hey BigBlockT,

Shnitz Racing...

Yep, searched their site and all I came up with for offset CC sprockets was PMFR sprockets. They also advertise APE products which only have 630 offset CC sprockets..

I had contacted PMFR where the only available 530 sprockets came with noses and they wouldn't cut them off. Nor did they have the desired 18 tooth sprocket at the time. When asked about getting one fabricated, him & haw to where I got a headache and said later....

Then I had bad dealings with Kosman... They only had 15 tooth 530 resulting in bare minimum clearance (~3/16-1/4") on the swing arm pivot tube...

Once I found a 630 rear sprocket (JT Sprockets, Thanks to Steell)that fit the bolt pattern of the rear ZX6 and for the fact that the 530 chain width is the same as the 630 it became clear, screw the chain/rear sprocket colors, get on with it... :woohoo:

Once I started analyzing the odd number of 13.5mm oofset from AmericanClassix.com it became quite clear why the German fabricator did this... Sticking with the 630 pitch, they had designed for frame clearance as well as up to a 190mm tire utilizing their swingarm and if staying with the OEM rim, their 9/16" rim spacer.

BTW, from Z1 I also ordered a 6mm spacer. In my math that leaves a .5mm difference... That's like 1/50th of an inch  The final alignment has to be with the chain on but as reviewed in the image, with a straight bar I'm measuring 1/2" to the frame or 180mm tire. No hub milling!

"by the way your bike is hot, when done we need to hook up an get some pics together."

Thanks and are you in the Phoenix AZ area or surrounding State?
