Gawd i wish i had thought about this earlier . I have been trying to track down the reason my 1976 kz 400 wasn't running on both cylenders. I did everything i replaced the coil, points and condensor, new battery, and cleaned the carbs 6 times. The other day i figured it would be a good to check the valve clearence, since its got over 10,000 miles on her. The 1st cylender (left side), was with in spec. Now comes the 2nd cylender (right side), go to stick in the feeler gauge, and its to tight. I didnt have a feeler gauge thin enough to fit in. I thought to my self, hey this is probally why it isn't running on both cylenders. So i adjusted it till the clearence was within spec. Ill know for sure when i get to fire her up in acouple of weeks.
