O.K. No surfing! Lets see who can identify this engine. It's a 70's Kawa and those carbs are 26mm Mikuni.
First correct answer buys the beer!

Impressive Ron. I'd never heard of them until a few days ago.It seems they were beat to the line by the CB750.
Interesting info here... www.freewebs.com/750rs/detailimages.htm

The 72/73/74 versions of the Z2 used 26s that looked like the 28s being used on the Z1/Z1A. The 75 used the 28s that had the brass M6 drain screw (not the 17mm plug on the bottom) and the 76 Z2 used regular ol' VM26s like on the KZ900 except the jetting was kind of weak. I have a set of the 76 version waiting on rebuild in my shop.

ok...so the z2 was a 750cc version of the Z1. Do any of that parts work for the 650/750 kz bikes? Are the heads/cams interchangeable? How about the bottom what does the crank look like? Any hop up parts that can be stolen out of this engine?

bought it because I was told it would never run again...I like to prove people wrong.
