getting one Friday from a guy down my road... I knew he had it for a long time..and told myself if he ever put a 4 sale sign on it I would buy it.

Well he did

He is in his 60s and had it since new(one owner) its black

16,50 0miles on it. Says he just had it service at the Kaw dealer her in town. And they have always serviced it etc...always Kaw oil...kept inside

THIS BIKE LOOKS NEW!!!

So my ? is ...is 1500.00 to much to pay?

Is 16500 high miles on these bikes

Assuming the condition that you described, it would be worth $1500 all day. As far as mileage, that's fair. Please post some pics. Good luck.

If the bike is as nice a you say and you can just get on it and ride away, sounds like a more-than-reasonable deal. We're gonna want some pictures!:)

With gas at $4.00 per gallon heck no it isn't too much to pay. The fact that you found a one owner, well maintained, classic bike and right down the road  I'm jealous as hell, I normally make 1000 mile road trips to get bikes like what you found. And no, 16,500 miles is only slightly broken in.

Nice find and welcome to the forum, I'm looking forward to the (required);) pics.

was $1500 just the down payment.... ;)

I would snap that up. The time spent sitting is harder on these old bikes than the raod miles. And yeah 16k is hardly broken in for a Kaw. Buy it, or tell us where it is!

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

I got the exact same bike for $1200. With the money I had to put into it to get it rideable, it put it quite a bit over $1500 and I'm still spending on it, hehe.

I say jump on it and don't look back. B)

Looks awesome. Great find. Mine has 65,000 kms (about 40,000 miles) on it. I think Apeman has one with 100,000 plus miles. I would just keep using the same oil the previous owner used and stay away from synthetic.
