question about shift mechanism with ape heavy dut output shft bearing. was created by 531blackbanshee
i installed the ape heavy duty bearing in my cases on my 1980 z1r 1000 and the back pawl on my shifting mechanism hits the exposed bearing race.so i have sanded and ground it down until it seems to work.has anyone else installed one of these?did you have to do the same thing to get clearance?any help/advice appreciated.

upon closer inspection after advice from jay.it appears that i have mistakingly installed the input shaft bearing on the output shaft.boy is my face red  .so i thought that i would "do the right thing" and come on here and admit that i am a dumbass  so that i can possibly help someone else from making this mistake.so now all that is left to do is convince my buddies that i need to pull the motor again to fix it,without admitting my mistake .we have had the motor in and out twice already and they are about to quit answering my calls.

HEY dont feel bad, i got my motor out and split just b/c i didnt know about the 24 dollar needle bearing pusher and the clutch rod is made into the input shaft now . . .
That would have been an easy fix before hand if i would have known
