Hi,

Seem like the easiest way to fix this is to have an oversize thread. Is this correct?

I've searching localy and seem like nobody can help me......

Can somebody give a link to where I can find theses....

Or provide another good solution.

Thanks in advance,
Joce

Depending on the bike (a hint to put your model in your signature line) the oil pan is an easy change. On the 900's and 1000's you can drop the pan and replace real easy. The hardest part is scraping the old gasket off.

Oups. signature has disapear.............

It's for the 1984 KZ1100R.

An oil pan form a J motor or a GPZ1100B2 is not the same.

This motor is from the 1984 GPZ1100 and parts are hard to find and don't want to take the risk that the tread is also damage....

Any good solution?

You might get lucky and find a pan on ebay reasonable. Otherwise, pull the pan and have a machine shop install an insert that will replace the threads.....chris3

I'll check ebay for sure.

Meantime, I put some locktit on the tread but I'm way far from the correct torque.

Is it safe to ride this way or I should leave the bike (answer my question here....:S )

Could do a search in the above Search Forum box (located in the grey ribbon toward the righthand side) by typing oil plug oversize inside the box and click on Go. Should return several earlier threads containing much helpful information. Just scroll down to locate those most applicable.

Seems the self-tapping oversize plugs are available at auto parts stores. Among other various remedies, some folks are using helicoil or threadsert repairs.

Good Luck! :)

Take your old plug to just about any good auto parts store and they should have an oversized self tapping plug that will work.

Canadian Tire :)
Bring your old one with you. parts diagrams at www.kawasaki.com might have dimensions. Canadian Tire will have a rack or a shelf with a selection of them on full display in the auto section. They will have oversize self tapping. Not expensive.
Thats where I got mine :woohoo:

I would'nt ride the bike with a plug that could fall out and spill oil where your back wheel is about to go. Worst case you can get whats called an emergency or temporary plug at Canadian Tire.

Good luck
