Machinist In Glendale AZ?

Hey all,

As can be reviewed in the image, I've finally started to put the beast back together.

Now it's time to get the top end cleaned & built up. I'm looking into APE.com for a 1015cc kit w/410 cam or if someone can answer my inquiry below I may go a different route.

Anyone from the Phoenix Arizona area know of a good machinist?

NICE!! that's going to be a sweet machine, don't live in the AZ area, just wanted to give you compliments on the bike. Have you checked with APE for the machining? Since you are buying the part from them, maybe they will give you a package deal with the machining and all. Just a thought.

The only machining required is boring the cylinders and cam clearancing the head. Send the block and head to us and we will do it and send it back with the parts.

I have been on your website and will be contacting your reps soon for still doing research on all that is needed. I have been looking at the 10015cc kit (with pins, clips, 410 cam & springs).

I understand where I will need to send the head for valve spring installation and cam clearance as well but I also will require a head cleaning/valve job. With a 30 year old bike this is just smart to do so... I also need to replace cam chain, tensioner & idler. Again, just smart to do so.

Question, the cylinder has a couple of broken fins (left side see image), I couldn;t find on your site so I'll ask here. Does your machine shop weld/build up and file down fins as well?

No, but we have a welder we can send it to that works magic. But it is not cheap.

Or would I just be better off thinking about a new APE big block?
