Yes, 180 off will spark at bottom dead center of both stroke cycles of the pistons. Correct spark is at TDC of both strokes.

1 plug looks good...one is black,and smells of gas.

I have checked and they both get spark,and did the water test to both pipes.

How much resistance should the wire cap have?And what should the plugs be gapped at?

Well....Just by chance I cleaned the carbs(again)and when I was removing the main jets,one was full of junk!It wont come out though as the flathead side is boogered pretty good.

...so I guess I will look for a bowl,and a jet on tuesday.

Good luck. BTW, nobody sells the main jets for the Mikuni BS38 carbs as a part, but you can get them in the Keyster rebuild kits. Only the stock size (125) is available.

If you clean the bowl and jet thoroughly, you might not have to remove the jet.
