kz 400 engine gasket kit was created by oldkaws4ever
im taking my 1976 kz 400 apart to freshen her up, paint the fraim, polishe the engine, rebuild the carbs.....etc. I was wondering if there was a engine gasket set for the kz 400 avalable anywere, because it has a slight head gasket leak, whitch i heard was a defect from the factory. Or would i be better off going to autozone and getting the gasket paper and making my own, using the old ones as templates?

Look for a gasket set from vesrah or athena. Old Bike Barn is a good place to start. Do a search on "KZ 400 top end gasket set".
You can NOT make your own head gasket, but most of the other gaskets are OK with typical gasket material.
