question about ape heavy duty output shaft bearing.

i just recieved a new one and being double row naturally makes it wider,it comes with a clip installed around it.i am not sure which way it goes onto the shaft,clip toward the gear or away?anyone know?

It can only go one way , it lines up with the groove in the case
